UPDATED: 11/13/2017, 7:00 PM: New Albany Chief of Police, Chris Robertson, informed NAnewsweb.com earlier this evening that the victim in the altercation that resulted in at least one shot being fired filed no charges today against the shooter.
Additionally, the shooter is still at large. Robertson stated that “The only thing we will have is ‘discharging a firearm in the city,’ but as soon as we can find him, we will pick him up,” Robertson said.
At least one shot was fired from a hand gun during a Sunday afternoon incident in the vicinity of Cleveland and Monroe Streets in New Albany.
Sometime between 4:00 and 4:30 PM today (Sunday, November 12) two young men got into a squabble, and one pulled a handgun. It is believed that the man with the handgun fired a shot into the air.
No one is known to have been injured.
Police are investigating and will determine after interviewing witnesses what kind of charges will be made against the shooter.
NAnewsweb.com will update the story if further information becomes available.
