First grade students at New Albany Elementary School recently learned about careers that involve animals.
This special career event was held on Thursday, October 1. Students rotated through several stations to learn about various careers and understand how these individuals work with animals in their daily jobs. These students had recently completed a reading unit series that focused on “How People and Animals Help Each Other”.
First graders had the opportunity to learn from: Belinda Chism, Shallow Creek Bucking Bulls; Dr. Elizabeth Smith, Animal Clinic of Tippah County; Carolyn Williams, Cook Creek Kennels; Office Paul Voyles, New Albany Police Department; and Gina Wills, Mississippi State Extension Service-Union County.
