Seniors from Union County and New Albany schools reprise walk of 2006

On March 29, 2006, the Bankhead Street/Highway 178 bridge across the Little Tallahatchie River had only recently been completed. That Wednesday morning,  first graders from the then-new New Albany Elementary School joined first graders from all four campuses of the Union County School District — East Union, Ingomar, Myrtle and West Union — for a symbolic first walk across the new bridge. They walked west to east toward the historic downtown New Albany business district.

Now those same first grade students are high school seniors, scheduled to graduate next spring.

We hope students, parents and friends enjoy these pictures.(click to enlarge/download photos)
