TODAY’S QUESTION: Do you shop locally? If so, where and why? Anything you’d like to see in New Albany that we do not currently have?

I like to shop in downtown New Albany because I find myself going out of town to shop, not finding what I want, only to return to New Albany and getting exactly what I was looking for. There is competitive pricing and a large selection. And the difference in shopping Walmart compared to downtown is like the difference in driving a Chevy versus a Cadillac. I’d rather not name any stores, but I am very satisfied with the offerings in our town but I do wish we had a high quality shoe store here.

I shop in Tupelo mostly, but when I shop in New Albany it is at Sugarees! The have Ding Dong Cupcakes.

Very rarely do I shop locally. I do business with Stokes Grocery. I do shop Walmart and sometimes Goody’s. I love to shop discount stores and flea markets.

Merle Norman and Goody’s are where we shop locally for clothing. I wish we had a Kohls and an O’Charley’s or Applebee’s, something that would stay open late on weekends for dinner after events. I also love that the Movie Reel is here and we don’t have to go to Tupelo for a night out. Justine Stewart

I love to shop at Obsessions in New Albany. Leann carries the cutest brands at the best prices! She always has great customer service, as well.

I primarily shop for groceries at Save-a-Lot, because they’re cheaper, fresh, and have equally good products. For Rx & OTC items I go to Walgreens, because their customer service is excellent and they ALWAYS have what I’m looking for in stock. Walmart doesn’t. They also don’t argue with you about using coupons! For clothing I’ll look at Wal-Mart, but prefer other stores like Catherine’s, Cato’s, etc for their quality, styles, and sizes. I WISH we had a Target closer. I like their stores.
