Union Co. deputies searching in Ingomar for woman’s attacker

Union County Sheriff’s deputies are searching a wooded area near Ingomar for a man who slashed a woman with a knife late Tuesday morning.

The suspect is Steven Bark Clayton, believed to be in his mid 30s.

Sheriff Jimmy Edwards told NAnewsweb.com that the incident with the knife occurred about 11:30 a.m.

At this hour, 2:45 p.m., Tuesday, March 15, the search is still underway, and the Sheriff says a bloodhound is expected to arrive soon to help law enforcement personnel with the search. Sheriff Edwards said Clayton has a history of methamphetamine use, and may have been under the influence of the drug when the attack occurred.
