Thomas “Tommy” Roy Taylor

New Albany MS-Thomas “Tommy” Roy Taylor, age 71, passed away October 20, 2018, at his residence. He was born September 24, 1947, in Union County to Jessie Clifton Taylor and Carrie Mozell Dunnam Taylor. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served two terms in Vietnam. He was the owner and operator of Silver Bullet and was a retired truck driver for Ashley Distribution. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Monday, October 22, 2018, at United Funeral Service with Bro. Bill Everett and Bro. Don McCutcheon officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. United Funeral Service will be in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Young Taylor; a son, Thomas “Tom” Roy Taylor, Jr.; two sisters, Peggy Lyons (Bill) and Ceretha Skelton; two brothers, John Taylor (Lea) and James Taylor (Pansy); and two grandchildren, Austin Taylor (Anna) and Carson Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Taylor; two sisters, Elaine Taylor and Barbara Taylor; and two brothers, Billy Taylor (Cora) and Roger Dale.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Taylor, Michael Harlow, Chris Baker, Jody Kidd, Jamie Young, Matt Young, Waymon Young, and Rusty Taylor.
Visitation will be the day of the service from 2:00 p.m. until time for the service at the funeral home.
In honor of Mr. Taylor’s service to his country, United Funeral Service will fly the U.S. Army flag during the visitation and service.
