Talmadge Lee Kirk

June 28, 1951 – July 11, 2018

 

Talmadge Lee Kirk, 67, passed away peacefully with family on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo following a brief illness. He was born June 28, 1951 to Kennith Kirk and Jean (Gray) Kirk, who preceded him in death. He was a loving father and grandfather and was particularly known for his loyalty in friendships and his ability to make people smile. He was retired from Master-Bilt Corp. after 38 years of service. He was a veteran and became a Christian in 1966.
Services will be Saturday, July 14, at 11:00a.m. at United Funeral Service Chapel with the Reverends Billy Foley, Caleb Willard and Louie Williams officiating. Visitation will be today, Friday, July 13, at the funeral home from 5:00p.m. till 8:00p.m.

Talmadge is survived by his daughter, Miranda Kirk Wilkes (Jay) and granddaughter, Ryan Wilkes, of Franklin, TN; his wife, Sarah Fair Kirk of Lake Mohawk; Barbara Green (Tom), mother of his only child and constant friend; one sister, Kennie Foley (Terry) of New Albany; two brothers, Larry Kirk (Judy) of Oxford and Mike Kirk (Angela) of West Union, five step-children: Valerie Carter (Mike), Angela Shirley (Jim), Chris Brock (Julie), Bridgette Kent (Jake), Katie Burchell (Daniel) and Jonathan Martin; ten step-grandchildren: Jacob, Savanah and C.J. Shirley, Brock and Benjamin Carter, Andrew Childers, Josh Kent, Bella and Brodie Brock and Jaxon Martin; and a bevy of nieces and nephews with a special connection to their Uncle “Tam.”

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Talmadge’s honor may be sent to Sanctuary Hospice, 5159 Main Street, Tupelo, MS 38801.
In honor of Mr. Kirk’s service to his country, United Funeral Service will fly the U.S. Army flag during his visitation and funeral service.
