Rev. Rank William Boyte, 92, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at his home. He was born June 17, 1925, in Brookhaven, MS, to Charlie and Lou Crane Boyte. In 1943 he married his beloved wife, Bonnie Rials, of Brookhaven. On May 30, 1944, he was instated into the U S Navy. After the Navy, he entered college and received degrees from Clark Memorial College and William Carey College. He received his Doctoral Degree from Emory Theology of Atlanta, GA. He served in many churches for 30 years in the state of Mississippi. He served on different Governors’ staffs of the State of Mississippi from 1966 until 1986. He worked with the New Albany Schools. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and attended Bethlehem United Methodist Church until his health failed. He was a Chaplain for American Legion Post 72 of New Albany. He was also a Mason, a Shriner, and a member of the Civitan Club.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 74 years, Bonnie Boyte; a daughter and son-in-law: Barbara Ann and Charles Reed of New Albany; one granddaughter and her husband: Carey Ann and Calvin Cooper of Cornersville; and two grandsons: William Riley Cooper and Solomon Cooper, both of Cornersville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter: Virginia Sue Boyte; four sisters: Helen Brown, Winnie McCoy, Billie Roberts, and Mary Pate; two brothers: J. Q. Boyte and John Boyte.
