Quitman Cobb Jr.

New Albany—Quitman Cobb, Jr., 84, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born December 17, 1932, in New Albany to Pender Quitman and Ruby Marie Bullock Cobb. He was a member of Ingomar Baptist Church. He was retired from the U. S. Army and was a Red Cross volunteer.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017, at Ingomar Baptist Church with Bro. Clyde Pound officiating. Burial will be in Ingomar Cemetery. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by his wife: Rose Mary Vignassi Cobb; 3 sons: Harold Wayne Cobb on New Albany, Steven Earl Cobb (Dianna) of New Albany, and Larry Michael Cobb (Marcia) of Pontotoc; 2 sisters: Kay and Ruth Ann; 2 brothers: Paul and Bobby; numerous grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sons: Roger Quitman Cobb and Joseph Pender Cobb; and 2 sisters: Lizabell and Marie.

Pallbearers will be men of the Ingomar Baptist Church sanctuary choir. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the American Legion.

Visitation will be Friday, October 13, 2017, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Ingomar Baptist Church.

In honor of Mr. Cobb’s service to his country United Funeral Service will fly the U. S. Army flag during his visitation and service.
