Norman Earl “Ned” Dunlap

Norman Earl ‘Ned’ Dunlap, 80, died Friday, December 22, 2017, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born August 27, 1937, in Union County to Lawrence Thomas and Ruby Lee Caldwell Dunlap. He was a Baptist. He was retired from Bell South. He was a Life Member of The Telephone Pioneers, and a member of the Union County Historical Society and the Clear Creek Wildlife Management Association. He supported and participated in the Relay for Life Cancer drive. He served in the U. S. Army.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at United Funeral Service with Dr. John Boler, Sr. and Dr. Terry Cutrer officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Frances Elizabeth Robbins Dunlap; 1 daughter: Elizabeth Boler (Dr. John Boler, Sr.); 2 sons: Thomas Frederick Dunlap and Timothy Earl Dunlap, Sr., (Ashley); and 5 grandchildren: John Michael Boler, Jr., Norma Joleigh Boler, Joel Dunlap Boler, Jonathan Robert Garcia, and Timothy Earl Dunlap, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters: Elva Joyce Fitzgerald and Janice Dale Wilder; and 1 granddaughter: Lilly Elizabeth Boler.
The family requests memorials be made to LeBonheur Foundation, P. O. Box 41817, Memphis, TN. 38174 in memory of his granddaughter Lilly or to Sanctuary Hospice House, 5159 W. Main, Tupelo, MS 38801.
In honor of Mr. Dunlap’s service to America United Funeral Service will fly the U. S. Army flag during his visitation and service.
