NEW ALBANY, MISS., February 22, 2017 – Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County’s front entrance, located along Highway 30, will have reduced access February 27-March 1 due to the replacement of an air handler unit on the third floor.
The project will require a crane to be positioned near the front canopy entrance used for patient loading. During the construction period, patients who need wheelchair assistance accessing the hospital for surgery or outpatient care are encouraged to enter through the emergency department entrance located on Oxford Drive behind the hospital. All other patients and visitors may continue to enter the front parking area from Highway 30 and use the front entrance.
The air handler unit project should require two to three weeks to complete, with only minimal limitations on entrance access.
“Baptist Union County is committed to making facility improvements while maintaining the safety of our patients and visitors,” said Walter Grace, CEO and administrator of the hospital. “We will provide the necessary staff and security needed to ensure that our patients and visitors have convenient access.”
