Registration is now underway for 2017 Museum Madness Discovery Camp at the Union County Heritage Museum. The date is set June 19 – 23. This is a week filled with fun, discovery and learning for children entering 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades.
The day begins for the campers at 9 a.m. and ends at 12 noon. Activities take place at the museum and at the Art House, which is located behind the museum on Highland Street. Junior Auxiliary of New Albany partners with the museum to make this week a fun, safe and learning event for the campers. The camp is co sponsored by BNA Bank and Toyota Mississippi.
Topics for this year’s week include Something Fishy with Emily Wiggins from the Mississippi Fish Hatchery, Mapping Mississippi with the Mississippi Geographic Alliance, Mississippi Famous Puppeteer – Jim Henson with artist Rebecca Browning, Native Americans of Mississippi where campers will learn about the early people of Mississippi who call this their homeland, and the Science of Scary Things with Mrs. Rita Ann West. Students who register for the entire week receive a free Museum Madness t- shirt.
Cost for the camp is $10 per day for member so the Union County Historical Society and $15 for non members. Registration must be paid when the child is registered.
