MS Supreme Court Justice visits and campaigns

Mississippi Supreme Court Justice Jimmy Maxwell visited friends in New Albany, Tuesday, April 5th.

He was recently appointed to fill a vacancy on the state supreme court after having served seven years on the Mississippi Court of Appeals. He is a candidate in the nonpartisan election later this year to serve a full term on the Mississippi Supreme Court.

Before being appointed to the Mississippi Court of Appeals by Governor Haley Barbour in 2009, Maxwell was an assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Mississippi. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi and its law school.

Justice Maxwell and his wife Mindy are the parents of two children. They live in Oxford.
