MS Small Business Week event to honor New Albany's Russell -

The Mississippi Small Business Administration (SBA) District Office will be holding an event at the Magnolia Civic Center in New Albany on Thursday May 4th in honor of Mississippi Small Business Week. The special evening will be dedicated to recognizing and celebrating this year’s Small Business Week Award Winners, Top SBA Lenders and Top Certified Development Companies (CDC).

It is already known that this year’s Mississippi Small Business Person of the Year is Mary Jennifer Russel, of New Albany, founder and owner of Sugaree’s Bakery. Russell will be in Washington, DC on April 30 – May 1, where state winners will be honored with their individual award along with recognition of the three runners-up and the naming of the 2017 National Small Business Person of the Year.

Thursday’s event will include local recognition for Russel’s win, along with announcements of other small-business related honors for state businesses.

Congratulations to Mary Jennifer Russell for this achievement, which not only recognizes her Sugaree’s business, but also her contributions to many other civic efforts on behalf of New Albany and its citizens.
