Maurine Manning Drummond

New Albany-Maurine Manning Drummond, 90, passed away on September 29, 2018 in New Albany, MS. She was born February 9, 1928 to Sam and Opal (née Williams) Manning of Ingomar. She graduated from Ingomar High School and attended Northwest Junior College in Senatobia. For thirty years, she was employed by Futorian Corp. She was a member of Glenfield United Methodist Church for forty years, serving as secretary for many years. She joined the First United Methodist Church in 2003. Maurine was respected by all who knew her for her intelligence, independence, and dedication to those she loved.
Maurine is survived by her two loving sons, Bill (Jane) Drummond of Memphis, TN and Larry (Janet) Drummond of New Albany; her twin sister and close friend, Maxine Bagwell of New Albany; caring nieces Joy Fisher and Donna Smith; brother-in-law Price (Sarah) Miller; four grandchildren, Leanne (Walt) Ricketson, Will (Leslie) Drummond, Drew Drummond, and Daniel Drummond, all of whom were especially loved; and four great–grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Bernard, her parents, and her younger sister, Jo Anne Miller. The family extends special thanks to Erin Watson, Brenda Towery, and the staff of Dogwood Plantation.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on October 3rd at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Prather officiating. Pallbearers will be Will Drummond, Drew Drummond, Daniel Drummond, Bradley Bagwell, Walt Ricketson, Dwight Whitehead, and Mike McClure. A private burial will follow at Glenfield Memorial Park with arrangements by United Funeral Service of New Albany. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, October 2nd from 5-8 p.m. in Wesley Hall at First United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the church.
