Mary Ann Connell will review her memoir An Unforseen Life at Luncheon with Books at the Jennie Stephens Smith Library in New Albany on Tuesday, August 15.
A light lunch will be served beginning at 11:30 AM.
Connell was among the first women to practice law in Oxford, MS. “Her story is a funny, touching account of a life ‘most richly blessed’ if sometimes in unexpected ways,” says her publisher. Along with other events, her memoir includes dealings with the Ku Klux Klan, advice to John Grisham on his law career and a painful episode involving Billy Brewer’s wrongful termination lawsuit.
