John Little

Ecru-John Earl Little, age 69, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born July 7, 1948, in New Albany to Albert Ray Little and Violet Marie Caples Little. He graduated from Myrtle High School and The University if Mississippi. He was a member of Ecru Baptist Church. Mr. Little was a Vietnam Veteran-3rd U.S. Army/Specialist.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Ecru Baptist Church with Bro. Jerry Caples and Bro. Greg Lassett officiating.

Burial will be in Martintown Cemetery. United Funeral Service will be in charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by his wife, Gwen Johnston Little; a daughter, Shani Earnest (Mitch); a son, Cory Little (Christina); two brothers, David Little (Wanda) of Ward, Arkansas and Larry Little (Kathy) of Buckner, Missouri; six grandchildren, Caitlyn Little, Caleb Little, Shelby Little, Jon-Major Earnest, Chance Earnest and Ashley Earnest; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Danny Little, Junior Little, Ronnie Little, Billy Little and James “Fuzzy” Little; and three sisters, Verla Long, Geraldine Little and Teresa Little.

Pallbearers will be Chance Earnest, Jon-Major Earnest, Tim Maharrey, Hugh Tate, Talmadge Griffin and Timmy Little. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Haynes, Billy Ray, Jessie Gilbert and Hugh Grisham.

Visitation will be Friday, February 9, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at United Funeral Service, and again, Saturday, February 10, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Ecru Baptist Church.

In honor of Mr. Little’s service to his country, United Funeral Service will fly the U.S. Army flag during his visitation and service. The United States Air Force will provide military honors at the service.!/Obituary
