Jeff Olson qualifies for state senate seat

Jeff Olson Senate Jeff Olson, of New Albany, has qualified to run in the Republican primary for the District 3 Mississippi Senate seat.

Jeff Olson of New Albany has qualified to run in the 2019 Republican Primary Election as Mississippi State Senator for District 3. District 3 includes Union County, Benton County and the northern portion of Pontotoc County, including the City of Pontotoc.

Nickey Browning, a former Democrat and now a Republican, is the incumbent District 3 State Senator and has said he will not seek re-election.

Olson, a New Albany businessman, previously served as alderman for Ward 1 of the New Albany Board of Alderman. He ran as a Republican for Mayor of New Albany in the 2016 city election and was narrowly defeated by incumbent mayor, Tim Kent, a Democrat.
