Jeff Moody, 84, passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo. He was born February 18, 1933 to the late Leslie and Florence Mayo Moody.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy.
He was an active member of Martin Baptist Church and enjoyed being a part of the Senior Citizen Group of the church. He loved all sports; enjoyed fishing and loved having all his grandchildren around him.
Funeral services will be at 11:00a.m. Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Martin Baptist Church with Bro. Andy Russell, Bro. Mike Johnson, Bro. Don McCutchen and Bro. Cody Ladner officiating. Burial will be at Martin Cemetery. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Nell Tate Moody; five daughters, JoAnn Dodds (Tommy), Debra McCutchen (Don), Brenda Forester (Mike), Patricia Armstrong (Jimmy) and Hope Garrison (Kenneth); an adopted daughter, Michelle Thompson (Joe) nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Leroy Moody, Herman Moody and Ralph Moody; and his second parents, Alvie and Macie Mayo, who raised him after the death of his parents.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Armstrong, Tommy Dodds, Mike Forester, Don McCutchen, Justin Armstrong, Chuck Phifer, Jeff McCutchen, Austin Armstrong and Kenneth Garrison. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Hall, Charlie Hall, Danny Miller, Danny Barnes, Bobby Robbins, Jerry McMillen, Charles Browning and Joe Thompson.
