Tupelo, MS – Ivy Leach Howard, 84, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo. He was born May 17, 1932 in New Albany to the late Booth and Jessie Goode Howard. He retired as chef for Natchez Trace Inn in 1973. He was self-employed and the owner of Howard Maintenance. He was a great handy-man and a hard-working man. He enjoyed keeping his yard looking good.
Funeral services will be at 11:00a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at United Funeral Service. Burial will be at Glenfield Memorial Park. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by a daughter, Deborah Taylor Black (Bo) of Hawaii; two sons, Layne Howard (Carmen) of Charleston, SC and Tracy Howard (Denise Hutton) of Springfield, VA; a sister, Vernal Hancock of Tupelo; six grandchildren: Lauren Howard, Ben Howard, Meredith Howard-Hutton, Melanie Howard-Hutton, Casey Howard-Hutton and Michelle Howard-Hutton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lee Dunn Howard.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 5:00p.m. till 8:00p.m. at the funeral home.
