Emma Joan Jackson Swords, 83, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Union County. She was born May 22, 1934 in Union County to the late Homer and Myrtis Gray Jackson. She is the widow of the late Jake Swords.
She was a hairdresser and a homemaker. She was a member of Fredonia Baptist Church and a member of the Ya Ya Sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2:00p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at United Funeral Service. Burial will be at Ingomar Cemetery. United Funeral Service will be in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by three daughters, Pam Hall of Biloxi, MS; Sherry Rorie of Blue Springs, MS and Lisa Rakestraw (Michael) of Savannah, TN; two sons, Billy Swords (Cindy) of Savannah, TN and Ted Swords (Kristy) of Abbeville, MS; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 5:00p.m. till 8:00p.m. and on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 from 1:00p.m. till service time at the funeral home.
