Cybersecurity awareness to be focus of Attorney General’s Office speaker

New Albany, MS- Internet crime is constantly taking place, and it often goes undetected. As technology continues to improve and play a greater role in our lives, criminals are also refining their skills online.

Attorney General Jim Hood urges Mississippians, especially consumers and businesses, to continue to be cautious of Internet crime. In recognition of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, which is observed annually in October, Attorney General Hood’s office offers advice for Mississippians about how they can protect themselves.

Jay Houston from the Attorney General’s Office will be in New Albany on November 1^st & 2^nd.  He will be speaking to students in all middle school and high school students about Internet/Cell Phone Safety/Dangers, and he will make additional presentations to the Kiwanis club and to parents of city and county school students

November 1^st

12:00-Speak at Kiwanis

1:05-New Albany High School

6:30 PM- Parent presentation for city/county school parents–Civic Center

November 2^{nd (Grades 7-12)}

8:00-East Union Attendance Center

9:30-West Union Attendance Center

11:00-Myrtle Attendance Center

12:45-Ingomar Attendance Center

(Times may vary a little at the county schools.  Mr. Houston will be traveling from one school to another we will get started as soon as he gets set up.)
