Cracker Barrel construction to start soon in New Albany

New Albany, MS– The company contracted to build the new Cracker Barrel Restaurant on the northwest side of New Albany has paid for and received a building permit from the City of New Albany.

Ideal Company, a Clayton, Ohio, construction firm paid, $4,114 on Monday, Nov. 7, to the City of New Albany, for a permit to build a new two-million dollar ($1,937,000) restaurant and gift shop facility at 319 Coulter Cove in New Albany.

New Albany Code Enforcement Office Eric Thomas said Ideal Company officials told him they expect to start work at the building site “within the next couple of weeks.” In fact, it appeared Monday evening that two pieces of earthmoving equipment are already on site.

The site of the new Cracker Barrel is immediately northwest of the New Albany Hampton Inn, on the west side of Coulter Drive.

The construction work that has been underway for several weeks further north on Coulter Drive, near its intersection with Denton Road, is for Dr. Kevin Rowan’s new dental clinic.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc. is headquartered in Lebanon, TN, approximately 25 miles east of Nashville. The company has about 640 locations in 43 states. The present Cracker Barrel location nearest to New Albany is north of Tupelo, on the east side of Highway 45, not far from Barnes Crossing Mall.
