New Albany – Rosie Clara Nadine Hamblin Cocke, 94, passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 at her residence. She was born August 31, 1922 in Union County to William Virgil Hamblin and Charity Young Hamblin. She was a retired Inspector for Lanier Clothing.
She was the oldest member of Center Baptist Church. She was also a member of New Albany Chapter 42, Order of Eastern Star- Past Worthy Matron.
She enjoyed making corsages for showers at church as a gift for honorees.
Funeral services will be 11:00a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Center Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Brazeal and Bro. Archie Goodwin officiating. Burial will be at Center Cemetery. United Funeral Service will be in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by two sons, Roy B. Cocke (Margaret) and Roger Cocke; a special niece and caregiver, Barbara Bullock, all of New Albany; eight grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and seventeen great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvie Bernard Cocke; a daughter, Sandra Seger; three sisters: Belle Fortner, Macie Wood and Jettie Floyd; and three brothers: Clyde Hamblin, Ralph Hamblin and Fredro Hamblin.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 5:00p.m. till 8:00p.m. at the funeral home and again on Wednesday, April 18 from 10:00a.m. till service time at Center Baptist Church.
