Bobby J. Clayton
Tupelo—Bobby Jewel Clayton, 82, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born March 7, 1936, in Union County to Carl and Coy Rakestraw Clayton. He was a member of New Prospect Primitive Baptist Church in New Albany. He was a retired Route Supervisor for Pepsi Cola Co.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 30, 2018, at United Funeral Service with Elder Larry Wise officiating. Burial will be in the Clayton Family plot at Hopewell Cemetery. United Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife: Delta Turner Clayton; 1 daughter: Vonda Gillen of Amory; 1 step-daughter: Rhonda Clayton of Tupelo; 1 sister: Janie Smith of New Albany; 1 brother: Larry Clayton of New Albany; 5 grandchildren: Michael Coker, Salena Morgan, Daniel Gillen, Adam Gillen, and Melanie Gautreau; and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 daughter: Cathy Powers; 1 son: Randy Clayton; and several brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be: Rodney Turner, Riley Morgan, Randy Morgan, Gary Morgan, Michael Coker, Daniel Gillen, and Adam Gillen.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2018, and 1 hour prior to the service Saturday at United.
