BILLY JOE MAYO

Billy Joe Mayo, 73, passed away Monday, December 26, 2016 at his home after a long battle of cancer. He was born July 2, 1943 to Fred T. Mayo and Ada Lucille Mayo of Martintown. He was a member of Ecru Methodist Church in Ecru. He was retired from Benchcraft Furniture in Blue Mountain. He loved camping and fishing and had made a lot of friends over the years. He also loved hunting with his son, Randy Joe Mayo and his grandson, Justin Bailey. Billy used to call Justin his little shadow. He also loved all his grandchildren and great grandchildren very much.
Funeral services will be 11:00a.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at United Funeral Service. Burial will be at Martintown Cemetery. United Funeral Service will be in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his son, Randy Joe Mayo of Myrtle; three daughters, Cynthia Young (Sid Wright) of New Albany, Angela McDonald (Bobby Mask) of Myrtle and Anita Browning (Tim) of Ecru; a brother, Boyce Mayo (Jean); three sisters, Barbara Bennette, Helen Wilhite (Boyd) and Rita Hall (Tim); eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a special friend of 18 years, Diane Smith. He also had a little dog named Buddy that he loved and cherished very much.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Ann McNeal Mayo; his parents; two brothers Harvey Hue Mayo and Fred S. Mayo; one sister-in-law, Mathan Mayo; one brother-in-law, Bob Bennette and one nephew, Ryan Wilhite.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Wilhite, Chris Bennette, Donald Mayo, Steve Mayo, Michael Myrick and Jeff Rowan.

Visitation will be held Dec. 27 from 5-8pm at United Funeral Service.
