Ann Rush Purvis
(June 2, 1960 – June 11, 2017)
Ann Rush Purvis, 57, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on June 11, 2017 at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, Ms.
Born on June 2, 1960 in Memphis, TN, she was the daughter of J.T. and Billie Yarbrough Rush. She graduated from Ingomar Attendance Center in 1978, and was employed at Bill Gray, Inc. She was a life-long member of Liberty Baptist Church where she enjoyed being active in her Sunday school class. Ann was an animal lover and enjoyed many hobbies including reading, sewing, baking cakes for special occasions, traveling, and spending time with her family and closest friends. Ann was a selfless woman who always encouraged and brought out the best in those around her. She will be remembered the most for her strength, determination, and her servant heart.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Liberty Baptist Church with Bro. Derick Finley and Bro. Tommy Purvis officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. United Funeral Services of New Albany, MS is entrusted with the arrangements.
Ann is survived by her former spouse and friend Mike Purvis; her children Ashley Flowers (Chad) of Sacramento, CA, Matt Purvis (Montana) of Tupelo, MS; her step-daughter Kellie Treadaway (Steve) of Myrtle, MS; her grandchildren Charlie Kate and Sam Treadaway of Myrtle, MS; her sisters and brother– Vickie Sullivan, Linda Jobe, and John Rush (Theresa) all of Blue Springs, MS; and her dog, Sophie. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at United Funeral Service and again Wednesday, June 14, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Liberty Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sanctuary Hospice House.
