A new arbor is under construction in the small pocket park across Bankhead Street from the New Albany police station. The City of New Albany building the arbor, which will be a welcoming place to “sit a spell” and enjoy a little shade on a sunny day.
Workers with C and A Constructive Company were busy Thursday setting the large vertical timbers that will support the structure. The arbor is expected to be completed before this weekend.
A sculpture called “Swamp Flower,” by Louisiana artist Mia Kaplan, was installed in the park near the Tanglefoot Trailhead on March 19, 2017.
