2018 Back-to-School Health Fair: It’s some serious fun

2018 Back-to-School Health Fair

Over 1000 people attended the 2018 Back-to-School Health Fair hosted by Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union County, Saturday, August 11th. Approximately 450 kids, plus one or more parents and grandparents for each child were present during the morning event on the hospital campus.

About 1200 hot dogs were consumed and free school supplies were given away. Kids were able to meet policemen, firemen, ambulance personnel and helicopter pilots and tour a variety of emergency vehicles. Many were on hand to see the medical helicopter land–always an exciting event. In addition to all the fun, there were medical clinics, dental clinics, car-seat safety checks, medical information, etc. available.

The health fair is an annual event that results from the cooperation of many folks who work in occupations inolving safety, security and health care. The purpose of all this work is to improve the health and safety of the New Albany community.

But don’t tell the kids. They think is about fun.
